December 17th, 2012 Dutch logistics company Gofilex acts as the central film logistics hub in The Netherlands. Over the last couple of years the company has made the transition from the traditional 'vans and cans' business to digital distribution over a dedicated terrestrial network. Digital cinema sends film projectors to scrapyard |

October 26th, 2012 The rise of digital cinema makes 35mm film projectors superfluous. While some cinemas hold on to one or a couple of analogue film projectors, others prefer to send the film projectors to the scrap yard. Some cinemas that initially held on to their film projectors, decide after a couple of months to get rid of the equipment - as more and more films become available on DCP, film projectors suddenly feel very old fashioned. Barco introduces remote service tool and small projector |

October 14th, 2012 Projector manufacturer Barco recently introduced CineCare - its new remote service tool for the digital cinema market. The web based tool enables remote and central management of digital cinema equipment. The Belgian manufacturer also recently introduced its new small DP2K-10Sx projector, specifically designed for small cinema screens. Read more >>

Dutch cinemas become 100% digital |

October 10th, 2012 With the digitization of a small cinema mid september, The Netherlands concluded the full conversion to digital cinema. Out of the 789 screens in the Netherlands, 506 were converted to accommodate digital projection by Cinema Digitaal, in conjunction with integrator Arts Alliance Media; the rest made other arrangements. The Netherlands is the fourth territory to reach 100% conversion, after Norway, Luxemburg and Hong Kong. Read more >>
